HISTORICAL FICTION ENTRY

Way back in 1920 VONS used to be barracks for men and women. The women were medical staff and the men were recruits. They had to wake up to loud trombones playing music. The music is likely not beautiful. I can imagine them getting dressed in just 5 minutes! The women and men had split barracks. When you go to VONS today the VONS building is still split in two because the courtyard is in the middle  of it. The paint, gate and ceiling are still there from the original barracks building. Be sure and take a look when you go there.

INTERVIEW (present day worker)

Several days ago we went to VONS. We met Ms. Marne and Ms. Reyna. I went with Ms. Reyna. This is her job. Ms. Reyna is in the freezer for 45-min. and she is the check out person. Ms. Marne is the Manager. They sell healthy goods so we can be big and full. Maybe you will see Ms. Reyna and Ms. Marne at VONS. Also they sell stuff like: healthy foods, candy, fruit and vegetables.

KID CONNECTION

I like VONS they have lots of great food. They have vegetables and fruit like apples and carrots. VONS has bread too. They have really good salads that can keep you healthy.  VONS has lots of Gatorade and water for you to drink at school.  VONS is my favorite place to get groceries.
